The first is the North-South Railroad, on the stretch from Estrela d’Oeste (SP) to Porto Nacional (TO), making 1,537 km.The minimum bid is R$ 1.353 billion, with projected investments of R$ 2.8 billion and a concession period of thirty years. Three in Cabedelo (PB), won by Consórcio Nordeste for R$ 54.5 million, and one in Vitória (ES), which was won by Consórcio Navegantes Logística, for R$ 165 million. “We had a lot of competition for the Cabedelo terminal and a good result for the Vitória terminal. This shows that we are hitting targets to deliver a series of assets to be managed by private initiative,” said Freitas. There are tenders for five other port areas in Belém and one in Vila do Conde, Pará to be managed in the first hundred days of the government. All of them handle fuel. They require R$ 629 million in total investment. Seven other ports are already qualified within the PPI, with projects in progress. They are in Pernambuco, Amapá, São Paulo and Paraná. Most should be put up for tender in the second half of this year.
